"When you know - you know."
I am thrilled to share the story of Colby and Lanny — a love story that began long before they ever met.
Their journey didn’t start with a first date or a chance encounter. It started years earlier, in self-work, self-discovery, and in relationships that taught them what truly mattered. Through experience, reflection, and growth, each of them learned their values, clarified their desires, and understood what they wanted — and didn’t want — in a romantic partnership.
When I asked them how they knew — from the very beginning — that what they had was real, that they were a unity, their answer was simple and unwavering:
“When you know, you know.”
That knowing carried them forward with remarkable ease and alignment.
Within just one year, they:
- met at a festival
- navigated a long-distance relationship while living in different states
- traveled together
- got engaged
- got married
- moved in together
- moved again to a different state
- got pregnant
- and bought a house
All within a single year!
This is what true alignment can look like. When two people meet not out of need, but out of readiness. When life doesn’t feel rushed, yet everything unfolds quickly because it’s meant to. When decisions feel less like questions and more like confirmations.
Oh, and when I ran into Coldy later at Burning Man and asked him for love advice about my relationship, he said:
“Love anyway, Alina.”
What great advice. Love anyway, everyone.
